CONCERT 2007
Jackson Civic Chorus Spring 2007 Concerts - ""Beyond the Sea: Music from Distant Shores"
Saturday, April 28, 2007 8:00pm - Jackson United Methodist Church
Sunday, April 29, 2007 3:00pm - Jackson United Methodist Church
All aboard!! The ship set sail and the audience joined the Chorus for a wondrous trip to foreign ports
as the Chorus presented music from some very romantic and intriguing parts of the world. Supported by our wonderfully
talented accompanist, Will Vanderburg, the Chorus transported all over the seas of the imagination to many far
away places. Chorus Director and Conductor Margaret Eisenschmied created a program celebrating the music of the world.
Some of the selections for our program were: "April In Paris", "River in Judea", "It's a Small World",
"Beyond the Sea", "Danny Boy", "Siyahamba" (a South African Folk Song), and Kokomo".
The Chorus was pleased and proud to once again be joined by the Jackson Civic Youth Chorus, a select
group of sixth-eighth graders from Jackson. The Youth Chorus performed "The Spirit of America",
"The Happy Wanderer" and "Around the World...In About Three Minutes". They also joined the Civic Chorus in the
opening and finale selections.
Another special addition to our concert this year was Flautist Diane DiMemmo who joined the Chorus in the
performance of “Danny Boy”.
