Jackson Council for the Arts HomeWelcome to the Jackson Council for the arts Homepage"Art for Community's Sake"Mission StatementThe mission of the Jackson Council for the Arts is to foster, support and promote all aspects of art throughout the greater Jackson area. The Council is designed to serve as an umbrella for other arts groups and organizations that create and carry out arts events and functions, and to foster new arts organizations to serve the interests of our diverse community. Thus far four satellite organizations and projects have been launched: the Jackson Civic Chorus (1998), the Jackson Summer Theater (1999), the Jackson Festival of the Arts (2000), and the Jackson Young Musician’s Scholarship Program (2001). About the CounselOur priorities are to perform at civic events and special events of other Township organizations, to maintain affordable ticket pricing so that the public can attend, and to foster cooperation with other like-minded arts organizations. Thus far, we have collaborated with the Monmouth County Arts Council, the Ocean County Camera Club, the Cecilian Music Club, the Adelphia Art Center, and Georgian Court College. We have also worked with the Jackson Township School system and arts organizations in the Winding Ways adult community. The Jackson Council for the Arts has sponsored an educational performance by the Eiken Trio, two art auctions, and a trip to the Juilliard Opera. We also participated in the dedication of the Town Hall Replica, the opening of the Justice Complex, the Cultural Arts Festival, and the Jackson Historical Society's Millennium Celebration. The Council now has an annual presence at Jackson Day, Flag Day, the Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony, and Reorganization Day. Established in 1998 by Mayor Vicki Rickabaugh, the Council is led by a 14 member executive board. Activities are sponsored via public funding, grants, commercial and private donations, and numerous volunteers, without whose help, none of this would be possible. For further information, call (732) 833-0255, email artscouncil@artsinjacksonnj.org. Our activities are sponsored via public funding, grants, commercial and private donations, and numerous volunteers, without whose help, none of this would be possible. We could not accomplish our goals without the ongoing support of the Jackson Township Committee and various Township departments, including the Recreation Department, who has assisted us in every possible way.
