And this year the Chorus has been very busy working with the letter “B”. Jason Diaz, our Director, supported by our wonderful piano accompanist, Will Vanderburg, have created a program of beautiful music representing composers and/or song titles all beginning with the letter “B”. Some of the selections from our program will be: “Sing Alleluia,” by Johann Sebastian Bach, a medley from West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein featuring “Tonight”, “I Feel Pretty” and “America”, selections from Irving Berlin, including “Blue Skies” and “God Bless America”, and selections from The Beatles, including “Yesterday” and “Let It Be”. The Chorus is pleased and proud to once again be joined by the Jackson Civic Youth Chorus, a select group of sixth-eighth graders from Jackson. The Youth Chorus will perform one selection and will join the Civic Chorus in the finale selection. The Jackson Civic Chorus, sponsored by the Jackson Council for the Arts, is a community chorus comprised of residents of Jackson and surrounding communities.
